I used Staples Print & Marketing Services for the first time and had a really great experience. The customer service from Rob Emerson went above and beyond! I’ll definitely be using Staples more often for my printing needs.

The quality and selection is good. The store is very clean. The rewards program is ridiculous. You have to spend a lot of money just to get any benefits, which does not help those of us who do not have a lot of money. The store and services are great, but you can go to Walmart, Target, or even the grocery store and get some of the same items for less. I only go to Staples for certain things. If the rewards program was better, I would go there more often.

Requested a course booklet to be printed. Binding looked good, color printing came out well, it was printed same day, service was friendly -- hence the 3 stars -- but every single tab that I had requested to separate out the various lecture/lab/etc sections is wrong. They are just randomly interspersed throughout the booklet even though the website requires you to specify the page number where each tab should go. I would have expected some basic measure of quality control. And now after spending over $100 to get this made, I don't have enough time before this course for a reprint. Extremely frustrating. UPDATE: Staples Customer Service issued a timely partial refund at my request which felt appropriate & fair. Increased from 3 to 4 stars as a result.

The merchandise is fairly well organized and the prices usually match up to what's online. But when I return Amazon, UPS and other packages like Express Returns, the employees grumble that no one shops after they make the returns. Recently the checkout associate angrily said the store gets paid nothing for the hassle of processing the returns "because customers take the coupon we give them and walk right out the door." Which is exactly what I did. Blaming the customers for an unhappy third-party arrangement is not professional. Definitely not the Vermont community-minded spirit I hope for and try to foster.

I went in looking for a storage box for a book I wrote. I didn’t want some impersonal plastic or cardboard storage box. Simple enough or so I thought. I was led to the storage boxes, plastic and cardboard. Not at all what I asked for and certainly not what I was looking for. I wondered around on my own after I was left on my own by the employee. I ended up finding what I was looking for. Something that was online but was told was sold out in store. Not only was it available in store but there were quite a few. I checked the model number and they were in fact the exact object I saw on the website with one exception, the price. The item $3 more. Instead of having to fight them on the price I decided to just leave without having bought a thing. The whole experience left me irritated and disappointed. This is also why I will go instead online and shop at Amazon. They have what I want and I won’t need to haggle prices. I was looking for something I wanted and I chose to go to a local store and was disappointed. Here’s hoping this store learns to change their ways and work better at keeping customers. Today you have lost one and it could have all been avoided.
