Save yourself the return hassle and just go to Best Buy. Riddle me this: you need to open the package to use the item. Once the package is open you find out the item doesn’t work, or works intermittently. Except their return policy states that with an open package you can only get store credit. Repeat numerous times. I don’t want to do business with you anymore because I keep getting shoddy merchandise, except now I’m locked in to Small Dog. Like I said, save yourself the hassle and go to Best Buy. Don’t support local businesses when they make it unreasonably hard and use tactics like this to keep your money.

The representative who I dealt with gave me issues regarding what I had requested. I had been having issues with my battery on iPhone 8 and had set up an appointment to have battery replaced. Was told it could not be replaced because the battery life percentage wasn’t less than 80%. Spent approximately 10 minutes going back and forth trying to get it replaced after advising the battery seemed defective and regardless if it was about 80% battery health (it was 86% battery health) I was still paying full price for the service and battery. Representative put more effort into trying to NOT fix my device than she would have if she would have just taken it and fixed it, per what was requested and paid for.

I brought in my 2021 MacBook to SmallDog last week. I was told the repair would be simple and straightforward, just a screen replacement. At no time was I told my data would be completely wiped from my computer and all programs deleted. When I called this morning to inquire about the computer being completely wiped, staff was completely unhelpful and offered no explanation other than I should've opted to pay 100$ for file back up in case of data wipe (they made no mention this was a regular occurrence). The technician I worked with during the initial intake process was unhelpful and seemed annoyed when I asked a few questions regarding my computer from the beginning. There are few options when it comes to Mac repair in Vermont, take the extra time to find another place other than Small Dog. EDIT in response to Small Dog's response to my post: The technician did not explain that data is often lost during these procedures and only asked if I wanted my data right away while the computer was being fixed, which I did not need until the computer was returned. In no way did the technician stress that data lost was a possibility. Small Dog did not explain at all that my data had been lost when returning my computer.

Came in for an issue with my iPhone. The microphone stopped working but only within the "phone" app that's built in to all iPhones. The microphone worked on all other apps perfectly. I brought it in to have it looked at after trying all suggestions online to fix it. Smalldog did a factory reset, charged my $40 for that, and then when I came to pick up the phone the employee who checked me out was extremely rude when I asked if they checked if it fixed the issue, refusing to check it. Rude, unhelpful staff who have no desire to help you with your issue.

Turned in a Vintage (2013) Apple Air laptop to assess a weak battery. The service rep at intake was polite and answered all my questions, including those not related to dead batteries and took time to go over the expense contract for repair. The computer was serviced and new battery installed within two working days. Repair cost were less than I expected. 5+ stars
