I once had a great experience at Smart Phone Repairz. It was a couple of years ago ... which is why when they told me it's $65 to repair a cracked screen on my otherwise perfectly working iPad Mini, I took it in ... When I go to pick it up, the guy takes it out of the bag and the screen is popping up a little, so he asks me for 15 min so he could clamp it and set it. Fine. He does that. But he tells me the frame's is bent (which it wasn't), but either way, I just put the brand new lifeproof type cover on it BEFORE I even leave the place. Later that night, my son accidentally dropped it, from about 10 inches onto carpet. The screen cracked. So I take it back the next day ... Girl at the counter tells me the guy who worked on it the VERY day before quit, so it was just her. Ok. RIGHT THEN, I should've gone elsewhere. But naively, I left it. She replaced the screen. We put it in it's NEW cover. I notice when I get home the home button is a little wobbly. But I just let it go. A couple of days later, the home button slides UNDER the screen. So I call and she says to bring it in and they'd re-seat it at no charge. I go back in ... 3 hours later, pick it up. She shows me it's working and tells me she did everything short of glueing it ... Later that evening the home button isn't working at all, it is plastered down ... I call to tell her I want a refund, and she says that is fine but they will have to put a broken screen on it. I ask her what her next step would be to fix it, if this obviously didn't work ... she said she'd put a new screen. SO my husband takes it in ... 4 HRS LATER, he goes to get it and no new screen, she says she can't re-seat the home button because we had a tempered glass on it. Are you kidding me after 4 hrs!!!!!! SO my husband removes it, and she says OH now I can fix it. I come back the next day for the 5th time ... she tells me she tried everything and couldn't fix it, so it had a broken screen on it and the home button was ruined (I did get a refund). She said the connectors on the motherboard were damaged. I said, they sure weren't the when I dropped it off the 1st time, and she just says I know nodding her head, saying she couldn't speak to anything the guy before her did to the iPad. UM it's the same place, whether you or he did it, SMART PHONEZ is responsible. I said, I'm not taking my iPad back in WORSE condition than when I brought it in. She told me there was nothing she could do short of sending it to another state to TRY and have the connectors that THEY damaged fixed. She also said the owner wouldn't give a dime for the damage THEY caused. And NO, I wasn't gonna let them send it off. So I call a place to see if it can be fixed, they said if the connectors were damaged there wasn't anything they could do. So I go back in to tell her, and she said you need to take it to them so they can SEE what's wrong with it. Wow. So I do ... I take it to U BREAK I FIX ... awesome place. The tech tells me, let me save you some time and check it here in front of you, because if it's the connectors, you're better off getting a new device. :( He opens up the iPad ... and SEVERAL parts are missing, 16 screws, motherboard cover plate, plate that covers the digitizer, cable, and connectors .... IT was a mess, nothing was properly installed. So he is kind enough to let me take pictures of his analysis. I drive BACK to Smart Phone Repairz, tell her she needs to give me ALL THE ORIGINAL parts to my iPad. I showed her pictures of everything that was missing. It was awful. I told her he said the connectors were fine. She said OH YAY, that's great. She also tells me that the reason those parts weren't in there was because they weren't in there to begin with ... WOW!!!! She said, if the guy before her left them out she has no clue. And I said SO at no point did you think, maybe all the missing parts were why the home button wasn't working ... and she said I just thought they weren't in there. SO today I get to pick it up from U BREAK I FIX in perfect working condition. Don't use this HORRIBLE place & experience.

The folks at this repair shop have been fantastic. Polite, fast, efficient, and knowledgeable. Two of the 5 times I've been there they quickly diagnosed the problem as something simple and THEN sent me on my way with NO CHARGE. To me their service is worth more that any insurance. Why pay money for what might happen, then, when something breaks, pay a deductible which can be as much as I paid for their actual repairs.

This place is amazing!! So glad I found!! Went to Dr Phone this morning, after my husband's 6S plus got run over, they wanted $275 and 2 days to repair!! Came here and TJ fixed my phone in less than 2 hours for $180!!! 100$ less!!!! And almost immediate service!!! Then at pick up Heather was just as helpful, explaining their limited lifetime warranty and sold me a screen protector that is also guaranteed for life!!! Couldn't be happier and phone is perfect!!!

Paying nothing was too much. I don't make it a habit of writing online reviews, however, my experience with Smart Phone Repairz was so disappointing that I felt the need to warn others. I have never experienced such disorganization and lack of customer service anywhere else. From the moment I dropped of my devise to get repaired, to the 3 weeks later when I had to pick it up because they did not manage to order the correct replacement parts, the staff was rude and disorganized. The day I dropped off my device, it took 3 staff members to figure out if I should pay in advance or pay after the work was completed. A manager came to the rescue to settle the dispute. At the same time, they quoted me $20 over what the advertised on their facebook page. I did not feel comfortable leaving my device there, reluctantly I did because I wanted to save $20. They told me it would be ready in about 3 days. Two weeks later I called to request an update, and they told me the replacement parts were never ordered so I could go and pick up my device if I wanted. Having already waited two weeks, I agreed to wait an additional 3 days for them to order the replacement parts and repair my device. A week later, I received a phone call saying that my device was ready. A few hours later they called back to say it was actually not ready, they ordered the incorrect replacement parts. Soon after, I picked up my device in the same condition as it was when I dropped it off. I tried to save $20 and I ended up spending almost 4 weeks chasing after these folks. Although I did not pay money out of pocket, they wasted my time. This a rare occasion when paying nothing was paying too much.

Do NOT take your phone here! Rude manager who REFUSES to give you store information. I took my phone in here in FEBRUARY and was told it would need to be shipped to Ft. Worth office. Called about 3 weeks later and told it could take a while but good sign since they were working on it. Today I called an a female stated she knew nothing about my phone. She had a bad attitude and her excuse was the person who took it in isn't there anymore. Not good enough, you should know who has devices out for service no matter who is working. I asked the store owner's name so I could contact and she refused. I asked for her first name and she refused. I asked for the store headquarters and she refused. She said she will tell them just to mail my device back, end of story. Whoever hired this person needs to be fired as well. This is not how you treat your customers. Sorry she was mad because as the CUSTOMER I asked how she could not have knowledge of my phone I brought into HER store. She said, "I've given you the info and that's all you're getting". Nope, I will make sure others be VERY wary and also filing a better business bureau complaint, they will be able to get a response from the super secretive owner that I'm not allowed to know where to file a small claim's case for my phone being held for 2 months and no idea IF I'll ever see again. Like anyone can contact me when you don't even know you have my phone! Very serious about warning others not to experience the headache and rudeness I have. They may be able to fix simple things from reading other reviews, but customers are definitely not valued here.
