The issue I came in for was resolved. However, my experience with customer service had its frustrations. My front camera randomly only captured blue and black. They had to hold onto my phone while they shipped a part- which was understandable but certainly an inconvenience. It took 4 and a half days, and I never got a call on my boyfriend’s phone, (who I listed as the number to call) and never got an email. I only found out it was ready by checking the repair tracking daily. When I picked my phone up, my phone was reset to factory mode- again understandable. I had backed up my phone in advance. But my cellular service had been disconnected. I do have an eSIM, since I have an iPhone 15. But it was not something I realized would happen, or was communicated with about. Of course I didn’t realize this til I got home because I had to go through the whole iPhone set up. And I would have had to make another appt the NEXT DAY just to get help- which btw, this geek squad is SEVERELY understaffed. It’s not their fault- but even when you have an appt you sometimes have to ask someone else to go grab a member of geek squad. The wait times are awful. Anyway- I ended up messaging my carrier. Verizon was awesome about resetting my sim virtually. But it wasn’t something I was expecting to have to do. The actual repair service was great!!! But I don’t like that when you call Best Buy it sends you to representatives who don’t know much about what is going on in your store. I hate to leave reviews less than 4 or 5 stars, but they really need to work on their communication.

I decided to upgrade my 15 year old Onkyo surround sound amplifier. I was fortunate enough to encounter a Best Buy Consultant, LD, at the store when I went to visit. It's so nice to find someone who really knew about the subject. I ended up getting a much better amp than I needed, but the results are worth it. I'm pretty tech-savvy, but had some issues setting this very sophisticated piece. I decided to have The Geek Squad come and assist me in setting it up. One of the things about being tech-savvy is knowing when you need help, which I did. When Jacob from The Geek Squad came to my home I realized I made a good move as soon as we started talking. He really knew all about the amplifier I bought as well as my speakers and the way I had everything set up. He got everything working beautifully and took his time explaining everything I needed to know too (he told me I'd gotten it 90% right, but that last 10% was pretty complex). Unfortunately that evening the amplifier started turning itself off periodically. It'd then go through a "Amp Diagnostic" and tell me to "check speaker wire". Not terribly helpful if you have 7 speakers and a subwoofer. I called again and asked if Jacob could come out again, they gave me an appointment. He had to check all the speakers and determined there was a short on one of my rear surround speakers (the wire was buried under molding up by my ceiling). He ran another wire which we laid on the edge of the wall and the problem was fixed. I can't say enough about how incredibly happy I am with the fabulous service I got from Jacob. The sound coming out of my system now, especially on modern action movies is better than any I've heard in a movie theater (they just blast it, you don't hear the separation that I hear at home now). Thanks Best Buy and The Geek Squad!

Called to confirm that they could do data recovery on an external drive. They said yes and scheduled me an appointment. When i arrived they told me they dont do data recovery and would not even attempt it. Total waste of my time.

I just had the most wonderful time with the Best Buy Geek Squad! I brought my computer in to be looked at for an issue that had been extremely annoying me for a long time. It was so wonderful to have my computer looked at in person, and they fixed the problem within 10 minutes, free of charge! For someone who has been dealing with the Dell support team for the past 6 months, this was the absolute best interaction I have had with a technical support team. Thanks Geek Squad!

We had Geek Squad come to install TV mounts and TVs on the wall. At the Best Buy store, we had a lengthy discussion with the sales associate about how we could do it ourselves, but we prefer to have pros do it because they're so good at using zip ties to secure the cable boxes in just the right places. Seriously, this discussion went on and on. We're really just talking about a small AT&T cable box per TV. Not really that big of a deal. But the whole installation process is only worth it if that gets done properly. It was 5 days from the date of purchase before the TVs could be mounted. Okay, not a huge deal. Kind of long, but not a deal killer. Then they show up and say that they can't secure the cable boxes to the TVs. That's an advanced task that will require them to charge more. Nope. Bye. You don't get to bait and switch me.
