Update: Lowered to 1 star because owner is unprofessional and does not stand behind repairs, just blames the brand. Also extorted removing my review, not even updating, fully removing before "making things right" and just gluing my lid. Did not offer to even redo repair as previously. Also seemed to know repair wouldn’t last/hold and made no mention of this beforehand. After owner's response, I took my laptop in and he basically said that was just how those lids/hinges were. And I got the impression that he had known they wouldn’t hold or last when he initially repaired them, but failed to mention this at all. He also said he thought 200 dollars was good for 15 months, which I didn’t agree with at all. If I had bought a laptop for 200, I'd expect it to last more than a couple years. I've even had two laptops under 200 that lasted 4-5 years. And I also thought it would be a permanent repair--barring unforeseen circumstances--as most people are likely to expect. He offered to glue it free of charge at least, but made it clear it was just so I would raise my rating. I tried to take him up on his offer two months later when I finally had the time and a replacement laptop, but he said he had told me when we met, he thought my review was unfair citing brand/company poor craftsmanship. That he should not be held accountable for it. And that he would not repair it until I removed--not even updated--my review. I told him I fully intended to UPDATE my review when and if he fixed my laptop, but that I thought my review was fair, as I'd had no problems with my lid/hinge until my cat ran over it and he fixed it. And that he was responsible given I'd paid him for the repair that didn’t last and he even supplied the new part that was apparently faulty. He has yet to respond. OG review: It was expensive, but had a decent experience. However the repair only lasted a little over a year which was not worth the cost at all. Took my laptop to get lid replaced because cat ran over it and broke the hinge. I would have done it myself, but have to remove pretty much everything to get to it, so really preferred a professional. The repair cost $200, a third of what I got my laptop for. Really expensive, but it wasnt that old and I knew it would last another 3 years at least. But it only lasted 15 months until the hinge broke in the exact same place. Dont know if there was something else damaged or if the new parts are just that cheap, or something just didnt go back together right, but am severely disappointed. This was my first experience with breaking/getting a pc repaired, and now I know that I should just buy a new one if something happens again.
