Computer wouldn't turn on after attempting a self-maintenance. Took it to compudirect and had my computer back in 48 hours. Absolutely FANTASTIC costumer service and overall product service. Would absolutely take my computer there again.

Took laptop from broken hinge. Used it at work all day. Shop had it for over 2 weeks. States some chip on the motherboard or processing board is not working and it is proprietary so they can only replace the whole board. Now I know electronics can break at anytime, but it just seems too coincidental that it broke while there. Technician stated that since they did not turn it on when i dropped it off they have no way to show it worked before I brought it in. It's convenient that they didn't check it. So pay $350 to fix or scrap it--had laptop for 13-15 months. Not sure how you have been in the computer business for decade and longer and not have procedures to verify equipment is working at drop off. Trust me, if I would have known something could happen I would have had them test it. Valuable lesson learned. Response to owner: Let me address something in your response: You stated “but as you were told at checkout, if you damage a hinge…”. I actually was not told anything except that the person who fixes hinges would look at it. My first call from your store almost 2 weeks after drop off was to advise me they were able to glue the pieces back together? But now the laptop would not boot up. They asked me if the technician verified it was operable at drop off and at that time I told them the technician did not but I used it all day at work. He stated they would have their technician look at it. Again, not saying your team broke the board, but if your protocols are to verify if equipment works or not before drop off , then it was not followed. Also, the 2 weeks for the first call to tell me computer was glued back together seemed a little excessive.

I wouldn't trust anyone but these guys in the area for computer work. I'm a tech myself but this is who I call when I need help beyond my own expertise. The whole entire crew knows what they are doing and they've been in business so long you know you can trust the quality of there work. I highly recommend CompuDirect if you live anywhere near the Myrtle Beach area.

I brought in a 6-year old laptop for repair. My daughter had used it for gaming mostly, so needless to say I knew it was full of viruses and completely bogged up by data, running slow as molasses. It had another issue with its screen, which turned to be truly a Pandora's box. We were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I appreciate tremendously the time that Dennis, Craig and Gary took and explained with detail what exactly was going on with the laptop. Each had an area of expertise and even though we had to wait a week or so for the laptop to be completely fixed, they deserved my business. They worked with me diligently to stay within a strict budget and I am so thankful for that. I recommend them very highly! Your LOCAL computer experts! They also happen to be great people with big and kind hearts!
