I had a hard time getting parts locally to put an SSD in an older Dell Tower. This place was my savior. They were knowledgeable, helpful and had the parts I needed in stock for a fair price. I was delighted to be able to spend my money somewhere besides a massive online vendor or a big box store. Thanks for providing a great service to our community!

I had a really great experience. I brought a laptop in and the guy helped me troubleshoot it to the hard drive. I was impressed he was willing to take the time to work with me. When I had farther issues, I brought it back the next day and the guy, different from the day before, took the time to show me what I was doing wrong. And it was near closing time. Both of them were knowledgeable, patient, and willing to help. I would go back and I would recommend it to others.

My laptop developed a charging connection issue and needed the port changed--I had verified this with a shop in Portland. After coming back to Springfield, My elderly father did me a favor by going to a shop in a town to see how much the repair would cost. Unfortunately, he went to Gizmobyte. My dad advised Patrick there about the issue and asked how much it would cost to solder in a new port. Patrick took the laptop, tried plugging it in, and after about 2-3 minutes told him that there was a connection issue and a new port needed to be soldered in. He would not give a cost estimate except to say he would need a $75 non-refundable deposit and after opening up the laptop he would determine how much it would cost to replace the port. My dad told him he would need to ask me what I wanted to do. When he went to take the laptop back, Patrick pulled it away and told him he needed to pay a $20 diagnostic fee for looking at the computer. This individual did not perform ANY diagnostics--he spent 2-3 minutes with the laptop in an empty store with no other customers. We told him exactly what the problem was to start with and he just parroted back what we had told him. The $20 isn't a big deal, but it is absolutely detestable for someone to take advantage of an old man like that and charge him for a service that was not provided. He did not tell my dad that there would be a charge for looking at the computer--if he had been upfront about that, my dad obviously would have just left and gone to another store because we already knew what the problem was and what the solution was, we just needed to know how much Gizmobyte would charge to carry out that solution. Obviously, I would never give this place another dime and, even if this hadn't happened, there is no way I would hand over my $1,800 laptop and a non-refundable $75 without any kind of quote. That would allow this guy to arbitrarily decide how much to charge me and leave me with absolutely no recourse no matter how much he decided to charge. I am extremely disappointed in Gizmobyte's business practices.

My Laptop had some keyboard issues. This gentleman not only took care of the issues but also made a great suggestion on taking my laptop to the next level speed wise. I feel his prices were very reasonable and when I dropped off my laptop, I thought it would be a good week before I saw it again. Nope, a few days later it was ready. Anytime you beat your guesstimate on completion is a huge plus for me! I found a local place to take care of my computer needs! This person rocks!

Patrick built a new system for me. I use it as my recording studio machine and as my gaming rig. He was very helpful in picking out the parts I might need since it's been a long time since I was up to date on PC tech. It was a great help to be able to 'clone' my old studio computer so I did not have to spend days reinstalling software. I had some initial trouble with the graphics card but he also helped figure out the proper settings to fix the issue.
