Please save yourself time and money and go to another computer specialist. I recommend Affordable Computers on W 11th. Not only did Computer Guru misdiagnose my computer as having a faulty motherboard, but returned my computer in worse condition. Mind you all the computer components were brand new out of the box including the motherboard. This is by far the worst experience I have ever encountered with any local business. I asked for a simple refund for the full diagnostic because after taking it into Affordable Computers we found the motherboard worked, and the power source plug was not plugged in correctly (that simple). Any knowledgeable technician would have known that immediately, instead, the computer was dismembered and parts were broken costing me more money to fix what they broke and several days to get my computer back. Pics of a zip lock bag where they mixed SD cards with screws (a no no) another pic of the proper bag (non static) to place computer components in. One of the very expensive SD card is no longer working again brand new out of the box.

I replaced a screen in my own laptop, but couldn't get it to turn on. Benjamin helped me troubleshoot the problem, got it working, and taught me a valuable lesson the day after Christmas... only charged me what I could afford at the time. He was amazing, nice, and very professional. I'll be coming back for all my needs in the future!!!!

At Computer Guru I received professional, courteous, timely and reasonably priced service. I highly recommend them! Having recently gone back to college, I took in my old laptop and desktop because they ran extremely slow and didn’t have all the software necessary for my kids’ high school homework nor my college homework. Upon request I provided a list of the necessary programs prior to the appointment and was offered several options. Anthony installed a malware protection, cleaned up the hard-drive and start up programs, then updated the operating system on my laptop as much as possible given its age. The desktop capabilities were limited due to being older but he made sure my kids had what they needed to do their schoolwork. He also added the programs from my list to a gaming desktop setup they had in stock that already came with high speed processing, large memory plus storage, malware protection and WiFi capabilities, for my college work. Now not only can all three of us do our homework but we can work on it at the same time. Thank you, we appreciate your help and all your hard work!!!

I'm editing my review of this company, a place in which I worked for over 2 and a half years. I'm going to keep this short and sweet, and I'm not going to do a tell-all about working for Tony/Anthony. I could, but I won't do that. I was laid off in October. I tried to keep the job but was told that I was laid off from a lack of work. I question the reasoning a little bit, we've made it work in the past, but it's his business. I'm not writing this to tell you he does bad work, he doesn't. Tony does care about the business and the computers that come in. He does a very good job fixing them. He's also very set in his ways. Long story short, I took over doing the on-site work when a previous technician was let go. I ended up getting a newer car for this, as my car wasn't going to do it. I still have the employee manual, nothing in the manual states anything about compensation for mileage, but I do have text messages of what was agreed upon. I put a lot of mileage on my car for his business, which I'm fine with. But when working for him, I was never once compensated for that. Ever. He said that he turned in the mileage once to payroll but never did write me a cheque for it. I only ever told him the milage amount, in terms of a number, we never discussed any other way of turning in milage. When I was let go I told him I needed to be reimbursed for my mileage. I subtracted local mileage, anything to do with work, or driving outside of work. The only milage I left was milage that was for doing on-site work, and it came up to a lot of money, about 14k. I've tried making multiple deals with Tony, reducing the amount significantly just to help in a time of being unemployed. What does he do? First, he lo-balled me hard, then he just ignored me. I went above and beyond for him, answering calls at 9 to 10 at night, which he wouldn't even do. I did a lot for him, and this is how he treats his employees. Sure, if you have a computer, take it to him, he knows his stuff. But also know this is how he treats his employees.

Tabs were crashing and I was unhappy with Malwarebytes. They used to be very dependable and I could set up scans whenever it was convenient for me. Unfortunately, Malwarebytes sold out and all the great stuff went away. Back to the crashing tabs. Gered from Computer Guru came out and within a few minutes found I had all sorts of "gar-baage" running in the background. Who knew? I didn't! He uploaded CCleaner and I've been "crash-free" ever since. As for the Malwarebytes -- as soon as I heard the company had been sold I was ready to bale out. Anthony helped me with this. He uploaded new software for me and I feel much safer. These guys are very good at what they do and it's a pleasure working with them. They are a little pricey -- but, when you need computer help, these guys will save your day.
