I had purchased a new MacBook from Best Buy and wanted to trade in my old one. I went over to Geek Squad to have them transfer everything from my old computer to my new computer. I was not aware that this was an extra cost with the trade in so the money I thought I was saving with my trade in was consumed by the data transfer that they told me I had to do. First off, they charged me $195. Second, I was under the impression that the data transfer was going to happen with me in store and I would walk out with my new computer and everything on it. I wasn’t told until AFTER I paid and AFTER I signed the paperwork that they were going to keep my old computer and my new computer for 2-3 days while the data transferred. I am a college student who uses their computer everyday for multiple hours a day so this was not okay with me but I felt like I had no choice. Then, I went in to pick up my computer and all that they did was download my files and put them into one big folder on my desktop… not even in the same folders I had them in on my old computer. For $200 I could have done that at home myself. I am disappointed about the service that I got especially because it was not what I was under the impression I was paying for. So I could have just paid full price for the MacBook and saved myself the headache of my entire Geek Squad interaction. I will think long and hard before I make another Busy Buy or Geek Squad purchase.

They sent me on a wild goose chase to Polaris, who wouldn't help. When I came all the way back to Tuttle they were equally unhelpful. HOURS wasted over a waranteed iphone. Avoid this cycle of pain at all costs.

I came into Geek Squad with what I thought was a simple fix, but it turned into a bigger issue. The Geek Squad members were patient with me and exhausted all means to resolve my issue. When they discovered the root cause to my original issue, they walked me through the steps to fix it at home. An exceptional experience with great customer service and helpful team members!

I called (my usually store) the Geek Squad because they sent a text or email saying they were charging my credit card. It was a scam so watch out for that.
