Brought my computer in for crashing issues and they told me it was RAM related and had two sticks out. I found out the sticks weren't even in the same batch and worked perfectly fine and the issue was CPU related. I got an RMA and ran into the same issue again. I still had best buy total membership so I figured I'd see if they could figure it out. My computer would turn on and work for a while but would crash before I brought it in. They told me they tested a different cpu and that it worked so it was a CPU issue. After I got it back it didn't even load windows and when I got my RMA CPU I noticed they bent some CPU socket pins. Unfortunately they have a repair form that says that you must make sure the device you dropped off is in the same condition that you brought it in. So either go somewhere with more competent and honest workers or make sure to tear your computer apart after they check it out to see if they broke anything. Their workers need to take responsibility if and when they break stuff during repairs and have the corporation replace the part instead of worrying about getting yelled at because they messed up.

McKeon at the Geek Squad was an example of good customer service. He was patient and listened while I went on about the problem with the phone. He gave an estimate of the wait time and when it took a little longer kept me informed. Super nice young man.

I had one of their phone "professionals" replace a screen protector on my phone after the original one began peeling in under a year. In doing so, they damaged my screen with deep scratches before they applied the new protector on it. They must have dropped it while walking and the screen scraped on the floor. I seen one of the scratches right away but wasn't sure it was a scratch, though it was just a piece of debris like on my first one. After having this second protector on for only 2 months, I took if off due to peeling again and can now see all the deep scratches they produced and didn't tell me about...

Used Geek Squad for years but in the last few years the expertise of their tech support has diminished considerably. I canceled my subscription.
