I have a computer from Best Buy and also purchased the Geek Squad warranty. It was taken in for service when the computer was taking a long time to boot up. I was told it had a corrupted hard drive that needed to be replaced. They were told that was fine but a complete back up needed to be done first as I have my wedding photos on that computer. Thank God I did not let them toss the old hard drive like they wanted to. I get home to find that they had backed up almost nothing. Even small files like my resume was missing. It was taken back and they had multiple excuses like they didn’t see any files on there and then it changed to the files were encrypted. None of which was true. I had them put the old hard drive back in and I took it to a friend of mine that works in IT. She was able to successfully transfer all the files. I would have respected the truth even if it was it would have taken too much time to transfer the files. The heartlessness of just not transferring wedding photos and then wanting to throw away the old hard drive just blows my mind. If you have anything important on your computer, I would go somewhere else.

They saved my PC once. When I bought the membership. But .... After that they became useless. Gave them my PC to turn on Secure Boot within the BIOS. They didn't do it when I picked it up. So I had to do it myself. Which was a headache. Then simply things like figuring out why a laptop won't turn on, my answer was "we don't know". I understand they deal with technologically illiterate people on a day to day basis. Which is overwhelming. I've seen the way people act ignorant to the workers and managers. They're overwhelmed and now under performing their work. Doing the bare minimum. Not to mention, I got texts and emails for weeks telling me to pick up my computer when I had already picked it up. You can't call the store because there isn't a direct number. I don't wish to travel across town to tell them that they failed to correctly checkout my PC. And even though there will be no line but appointments on the board, their service is slow and you must wait an absurd amount of time to pick up if you show up early. All you're doing is picking up and signing a paper, but first come first serve. They're just slow and the work is bad. The worst part was them telling my PC was ready but not turning Secure boot.

I am having IPhone issues and scheduled an appointment yesterday to come to Best Buy Winston Salem today at 2:40. I get there at 2:30 and am told to take a seat as they are behind on appointments. At 3:10 I am finally told to come up to the counter. I am then told they are at capacity on iPhone repairs and could not look at my phone today. What was the point of making an appointment for today??? I drove 25 minutes to have my phone looked at and then get told they are at capacity on IPhones so I can leave my phone overnight which was not an option as my Mother is in Boone where the hurricane hit and I have to have phone access to her or I could go somewhere else. This is horrible customer service. Why was I able to make an appointment if I could not be helped today!!!?? Again I drove 25 minutes just to wait 30 minutes to be told we can’t help you today. I am beyond upset.

They make you stand and wait for 15 minutes and after they say you’re late and makes you reschedule or pass others in front of you

They didn't connect my new TV correctly. I went to Best Buy to address this with the Geek Squad and was told, You have to call the 1 800 # because if I issue a reconnect you will be charged again. " It gets better. I called that number thinking they would schedule the reconnect and was told that they would send a message to the technician to contact me. One week later and no call and no response to my emails. I plan to do ALL my future purchases with Crutchfield as I have used them before and hire someone reputable to connect things I am not able to. Good ridden to Best Buy and the Geek Squad!
