4/16/2024- Update to clarify: Cam did not make any direct racist comments to my friend- but he did text me the attached screenshot. Take that how you will. My experience with Cam is less than 1 star. I will summarize this as shortly as possible but Cam is dishonest, rude, disrespectful and has terrible ethics. Originally Cam was hired for a hardware fix- the hinge on my laptop was broke. After giving him a $240 deposit, my husband and I made it very clear we were not willing to pay much more, as at that point I would just get a new laptop. He gave us his word and also told us that he would take it home to inspect it further and would not do anything until he called and got out consent. Well he lied. He did not do that. In fact, I did not hear from him for a week and then he called me 5 times in 40 minutes demanding I call him back because of some firmware issue. Mind you, he would not even provide proof of this firmware issue. After I told him my files and data were backed up and I did not want the firmware issue fixed, he told me he already worked on fixing it for 3 hours at his $180 rate for a total of $540, and I needed to pay him- like what?! Unfortunately I was unexpectedly on the road to see my ill father, and requested if he could hold my laptop (not fix it any further) and discuss further when I return in a few days. Cam denied, and demanded that the laptop be dropped off and him get his money that day. Cam told me he would "cut me a deal" and give me my laptop back for $200 more dollars. Mind you I already paid a deposit of $240 for hardware fix, that he later said he could not fix and I could not get my money back. Mind you- his policies state "No fix, No pay" I was already in a flustered state and just wanted my laptop back and agreed to the $200 and had my friend wait at my house to pick it up with the money. My friend knew I was scammed (as the laptop was still broken, i was out $440 at this point) and questioned Cam- which is the situation in which Cam is referring to when texting "chocolate monk." The next day once I had calmed down and really thought about the situation, I reached out and asked for my money back. I was denied, and then mass texted even though I asked him to stop. I realize I was scammed and that Cam was a crook. I should have read reviews prior. Let my terrible experience be a warning, do not do business with this man.

PC Medics on Call and the owner Campbell were great. I thought my computer was done for, but Cam was able to get me up and running in no time. He explained everything to me, step by step, and was patient as I asked a lot of questions. My laptop is running better than ever, and I did not have to spend so much money on a new one. Highly recommended!

Found this place online after accidentally spilling water on my MacBook. Cam was very friendly at first and extremely willing to help. He came and picked up my MacBook in Wilmington the day of ($200 in cash). He called me within two days, which is a very quick turnaround, but with unfortunate news that my Mac did not work. He charged $340 for this, no files recovered, on top of what I had already paid. Not so much a problem with the price as I understand it is his time. He was very adamant on coming to pick up the cash the minute he called me. I told him that time did not work for me as I had an appointment scheduled somewhere in Surf City. He basically brushed me off and told me that he would be leaving to receive the cash after the phone call . . . he said that the next day he was 'busy' and the only time was now, therefore he was coming. I explained that I would not be home nor did I have the cash ready . . . to which he replied something along the lines of, "You can get in your car and drive a mile to the bank," which was discourteous. I ended up waiting for him and was late to my appointment (not the end of the world) but he kept saying he 'was sorry for making me late' and that he 'was not raised that way' . . . whatever that means. I do appreciate Cam for taking a look at my MacBook . . . I do not appreciate the way I was treated on the phone and how time was only considered for him and not me.

Excellent service does not even begin to describe the level of personalized concierge service that I received from Cam at PC Medics On Call! My laptops hard drive crashed on me and I didn’t have the time to wait 6-10 days that most of the computer repair shops in town said it would take to get my computer back. After reading the reviews that PC Medics On Call had I called and spoke with Cam and he stated he provided a same day concierge computer service and that he could have me up and running by morning and that he could fit me in after he left his clients. Sure enough, Cam met with me in about 40min and picked up my laptop and the deposit that he required and said that I would be all set in the morning and ready to rock and roll. Not only did Cam have my failed hard drive replaced and Windows 7 re-installed but, he even took the time to clean my laptop and I was absolutely amazed at how bright and shiny my laptop was when he returned my computer and how fast it was running and just as he said, it would be spinning like a top and running better than new! Thanks for the Excellent Service Cam and I will definitely be using you whenever I need any computer work done in the future and I will be sure to recommend you to everyone that I know!!

It could have gone worse, but this was definitely the worst computer repair experience I've had. To Cam's credit, he did arrive quickly after I called and was knowledgeable and competent working on the computer. But he charged almost $300 for less than an hour's work even though he did nothing to fix the issue, which would have cost much, much more. While I thought it was a lot, I figured I should have asked his rates beforehand and did not argue the amount, but he seemed preemptively aggressive/defensive about it and anything else like he was trying to pick a fight. He kept saying things like "I'm not a d***" and how he doesn't overcharge until I started thinking it was possible he had a guilty conscience for a reason. I realized it wasn't worth it and went to another repair shop where they've diagnosed my problems for free before, and they got my computer sorted for less than one fifth of what I would have ended up paying Cam total. I get that PC Medics on Call is a one-man operation and time is valuable, but I've never in my life paid that kind of cash for nothing to be fixed; however fair it feels for him to charge what he does, it made no sense to me as a customer when similar services elsewhere are so much more affordable. Others familiar with computers I spoke to felt strongly I had been ripped off. If price isn't an object and you need help absolutely immediately without leaving your home, you have an option here as Cam can come to you even when other places might not be open, but I can't recommend it in good conscience, only that you beware his rates before calling.
