I've never bought anything here, but every once in a while I drop off my electronics for recycling. The staff are always friendly. One unusual thing is they have a guard or something at the door when you come in, who always asks you the purpose of your visit. I'm not sure if it's to make it easier for customers to find what they're looking for or what, but I always have to explain why I'm there to this guard, and then to the people at the registers..

Second time visiting this particular location and watched as everyone other than me be greeted as they entered and asked if they needed help. Because of that I attempted to find my item on my own. Eventually I had to ask an associate for help, especially after noticing they were watching me, but couldn't bother to ask me if I needed help. Think the policy of the store should be to profile people's behavior to determine if they plan to steal, instead of their skin color. Tues 02/04/25 @ 2pm.

Great experience at Best Buy in Patchogue! Had an issue with a new laptop I purchased two weeks ago that had a screen defect, and Colin at Geek Squad helped me right away. Decided to purchase a different model instead of swapping for the same one, and the guys over in the computer department went above and beyond to locate the one I wanted--there was only one in stock! Shoutout to Shane, Paul and Liam for making it a smooth experience! :)

I had a very disappointing experience with two managers recently I believe names were Kim and Tavia. When I approached them with a question, rather than addressing it directly, they continued talking amongst themselves without acknowledging my presence or offering any help. It felt incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. I was standing right in front of them, yet they failed to ask if I needed assistance or even paused their conversation to address my concern. It was frustrating and left me feeling completely ignored. This lack of basic courtesy and professionalism is something I hope they improve in the future.

I would give 0 stars if I could. My boyfriend bought me a PS5 for my birthday this past week. Today I set it up and turned it on, except it didn't connect to the controller, then shut off and wouldn't turn back on. After troubleshooting and reading reviews, I realized this is a common problem and we had a lemon. We called Best Buy customer service and were told we had 30 days to return the item. When we brought it back, the girl at the register said that there was a hard return window of 15 days and ours was purchased 3 weeks ago so we were out of luck. She then offered to let us pay an extra 50 dollars for a Best Buy membership so that we could exchange the console (since a perk of membership is a 60 day return period). I asked if we could speak to a manager, since we had been told we could return it over the phone. The manager was no help and basically said there was nothing she could do. I called Best Buy customer service back and asked if I could speak to the rep I had spoken with that morning and she said that even though they record phone calls she couldn't pull up the record of the call. So basically Best Buy sold us garbage and then charged us for the luxury of returning it. Such a scam. Just buy from Amazon! They have a better return policy and you don't have to deal with awful customer service.
