I bought a package of poster board with three half sheets with different colors on each side. The label said what colors were on the reverse aides that would couldn’t see but that turned out to be wrong. Pain in the butt, now I had to come back to return. I was asked for my VISA card ending in 4 numbers that appeared on the receipt but I only have one VISA card and it doesn’t end in those numbers. The clerk called the manager over and he said all the same things, saying that in order to get a refund I would have to produce the non-existent card. I told him I had used Apple Pay but this didn’t mean anything to him and he kept insisting that I must have used a card ending in those numbers because it said so on the receipt. The only solution was to get a gift card which I didn’t want because after this I really don’t ever want to go to Staples again but I got it anyway because otherwise I’d be out the $$ entirely. The clerk and the manager SHOULD have commiserated with me, believed what I was saying and tried to run my VISA card anyway. If they had done so, it would have worked. They should know that: “ When you use Apple Pay, your actual credit card number does not appear on a receipt because Apple Pay uses a unique, encrypted "device account number" to process transactions, meaning the merchant never receives your full card details, only a secure token for payment, thus protecting your privacy.” the manager was so unhelpful and never apologized but instead called me hostile.. Well I WAS pretty frustrated and rightly so! I didn’t get the manager’s name but he is an Indian gentleman working Friday afternoon at the Latham Staples on November 29, 2024.

My wife went to return an Amazon product at the store, and the woman at the counter was extremely rude. Starting from the lack of returned greeting, we should have left immediately. Then when she had a misunderstanding of how the item was supposed to be packaged, the woman literally snatched the box and shoved the item in it. Amazon even confirmed that the product wasn't even in their system correctly as a return and thankfully, they took care of it for us because we had a receipt (which was also mislabeled). I don't know what this associate's issue or problem was but her rudeness was unwarranted. We will not be returning to the store for any reason.

So I have two bad experiences with the Staples in Latham..... Issue #1) I went to buy a laptop (advertised on sale). After waiting 15 minutes, I finally received help. I told the person which laptop I wanted to purchase, and they went to get it. He then came back and proceeded to tell me that he only (allegedly) had one and that it was damaged. So, needless to say, Staples LOST my business, and I purchased my laptop at Walmart. No discount on another one, no substitution, no nothing. Issue #2) I went there on another day and purchased some supplies, along with a card reader (for the new Walmart purchased laptop). After paying for my purchases (which I thought was a tad high), I looked at my receipt, and the associate had charged me for TWO card readers. (Transaction 16872 - Cashier 3005107 - Middle Eastern guy). Luckily I caught this before driving home, and was given a return credit on my credit card. There will not be an Issue #3), as other than maybe office supplies, any other purchases will be bought anywhere else BUT Staples!

Really happy with My shopping experience is at Staples. It’s a nice organized place to shop at and I really appreciate how the associates help me to use the coupons and get the best deal.. They also have a really good selection.

Staples helps me meet a deadline! I had a project that I needed done by the next morning. I went to the Latham location and the service people at the copy center where absolutely amazing! Both Tristin and Paul worked together as a team to get it done! I appreciate their persistence. When there was a couple odd things technically that came up in the project they were able to work through the issue as a team and get the job done on time! These two employees are exemplary employees and should be awarded for their efforts for the way they handled this project! A big thanks to both of them to help me meet my deadline!!! -Jim
