Absolutely amazing experience! I utterly panicked when my laptop would no longer turn on, right in the middle of finals week, and I didn't know what I was going to do. I found them through a google search and decided to give it a go. It was a pretty surreal experience when I showed up at the shop--I guess I went during non-walk in hours? But I kind of felt like I was in a cool spy movie, making contact via phone, following a set of instructions for sign in, and then dropping off my laptop like a top secret package. I put my full trust in these guys as a stressed out college student, and they absolutely delivered! They had my laptop fixed and ready for pick up in less than 24 hours (it was actually like 5 hours, I counted), and I didn't miss out on a single bit of studying! The staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful, and after-hour pick up is super nice, especially for us busy college students. I've already told all my friends about my wacky adventure to their cool computer repair shop, and my friends were joking about breaking their laptops just so they could come for a visit! The way they handle customer service is awesome too (reading responses to reviews online here has given my friends and I LIFE). And I was very pleasantly surprised to find an extra discount on my bill for LGBT+ and Family. How neat is that!? Anyway, absolutely amazing experience, definitely will always return here for any of my tech needs. Thanks guys!

I really liked my experience at South City Computer — it’s not your standard repair shop! The “check in” is through computer and an off-site attendant. Ongoing communication about estimates, etc, is through email, which I found to be efficient. This approach keeps the repair cost reasonable and allows the owner to get the repair completed faster. A plus for me — when I picked up my computer I got to meet two beautiful Border Collies! I definitely recommend this business if you want honest, fair recommendations about repairing a broken computer.

Highly recommend South City Computer, they are amazing! Not only did they agree to repair my laptop on extremely short notice (brought it in at 5pm when I was leaving town the next day at 6am) they stayed late to get the job done and waited past our closing time for me to pick it up. Initially, they detected malware but did a thorough diagnosis to make sure it was hardware and even had a cheap replacement wifi card in stock! When I picked up my fully functioning computer, the total was even a lot less than I expected! I cannot say enough good things about great folks and service at South City!

South City Computer is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. When my computer crashed, they were able to get it back up & running smoothly & efficiently. They took the time to explain what they were doing, & I have not had any issues since picking it up. The price was very reasonable for the work performed. The staff is also very friendly & makes you feel at ease. I would highly recommend South City Computer & hope they remain in the neighborhood for many years to come.

I always support local business, so pains me to write this, but this was easily one of the worst business experiences I've ever encountered. Let me explain. I spoke with owner over phone about upgrading my computer and switching to Linux. He gave me a price and we set an appt for me to bring it in. All good. I got there and then he explained for that price I also needed to purchase a 90 day subscription for more $$. I agreed, shame on me, not until later did I realize I had just been victim of a bait and switch. We made an appointment for me to pick it up. The appointment was useless, wasting my time, no employee was there or ever showed up, and I had to return a second time. Then it got worse. On my credit card statement, promptly after the 90 day period expired, I was billed another $60 to continue the subscription, for which I never agreed or signed up for, and so I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. If you want poor service and like being ripped off, go to South City Computer. I will say the work they did seems fine, I have had no issues with the actual hardware/software upgrades.
