It took me way too long to realize this dude scammed me. Couple years ago I brought my old laptop in because it needed a new motherboard. Instead the guy made me buy a $200 craptop from him instead of replacing the $70 motherboard on my old laptop. Avoid this dude, hes out for your money

The estimate was exactly what I paid. Problem fixed and in a minimal amount of time. Steven is not only knowledgeable, but he is also willing to share his knowledge in away that is easy to comprehend. Unlike Geek Squad, where you're pretty much guaranteed you're going to spend $300.00 minimum no matter what the problem is, his pricing is extremely reasonable. I also compared this repair to all the other local repair shops and again... his pricing felt more honest. It's great to know that we have somebody in our community that respects our hard earned money, as little as it may be sometimes. To any locals looking for a trustworthy, honest, and experienced repair technician: You can not go wrong with Rum River Computers. I feel absolutely 100% confident recommending him to everyone I know.

I have been using Steve at Rum River Computers for several years. He has offered services for several our our families businesses. Steve always comes to help us when we need it most and are in a "technology bind" so to speak. We are greatly appreciative of her expertise and knowledge to help get us back up and running!

I asked for help to build a computer for my daughter for Christmas. I know nothing about computers let alone computers for gaming. I gave him a price point and he put together an amazing computer for my daughter with in my budget. Would highly recommend!

Went there after my computer busted on me, because it got good reviews and he seemed like he knew what he was doing. However, he wasn't able to tell me what was wrong with my computer and had recommended I buy a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. After I bought those, he put them into the computer, and it still wasn't working and he still wasn't able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with it. It seemed that I bought all those things for nothing, which, I kind of did. After he told me that it still wasn't working, he recommended that the GPU I had might have gotten fried, which wouldn't have made sense considering I had bought the GPU less than half a year ago. It was then I realized that I may have come to the wrong place.. I was charged $80.00 for labor and left with a computer that still wasn't working and didn't know what was wrong with it. I went to my brother, who lives in Duluth and does computer repair and building for a living, and I left with a working computer within 2 hours. He suspected that the PSU was fried and it was. Who knows if I needed to buy a new Motherboard, CPU and RAM. Overall, the experience was bad.. However, Steve was a nice guy, but after this, I'm not convinced that he really knows what he's doing.
