I made an appointment with the Apple Genius Bar to help assist with a software issue. Normally I am one to attempt to fix my computer issues myself but unfortunately I was stumped this time. The Apple Genius, Joe, who helped me solve my problem. We were both stumped for a minute but he worked diligently to explore all possible solutions and explain the steps he was taking to help further educate me for future issues. Great advice, amazing customer service, and overall great guy!

Showed up for my 5:20pm appt about 35 minutes early and they were able to accommodate me as a walk in. Got checked in and they looked over my phone to determine it was just a back glass repair. I showed up at the estimated repair completion time and my phone was all ready. I was eligible to sign up for apple care but I opted out as this back glass repair was a fluke. The Genius Bar rep wasn’t too push but she was very informative on the costs of the plan and what this repair would have cost me with the added protection. $199 for a shattered back glass isn’t too bad.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at the Apple store in the Mall of America on February 6th, 2025. I arrived for my 7 PM appointment due to ongoing hardware issues with my MacBook Pro, which I purchased for over $1,600 less than 9 months ago. I had to go in because my brand new MacBook Pro has another major hardware issue. Key word: ANOTHER. The first time it stopped working, they took it and worked on it for 3 days. Now, the screen is glitching. They said it’s the hardware, again. Well, maybe they will replace it because obviously my laptop is a bad Apple … get it? lol. No, they want to keep it for another 3-5 days and fix it. When I asked if they would consider replacing my faulty laptop, I was told that the issue would need to happen three more times before they would even think about replacing it with a new unit. It feels incredibly frustrating to be stuck with a device that’s clearly defective. I rely on my laptop for work and cannot afford to be without it for another 3-5 days while they "fix" it. Car Dealerships will lend you a car if yours is in the shop because they know you need to get around. Well, Apple, I need this laptop for work. I use it daily. I need it to “get around”. Same equivalent. My last MacBook Pro lasted 10 years. Now this one I spent $1,600+ has two hardware issues in less than a year? REPLACE IT. I also felt pressured to purchase Apple Care, which seems unreasonable given the circumstances. If I buy a faulty product, shouldn’t the care be on them? I asked them to cover Apple Care after my limited warranty is up; NOPE. The lack of urgency or empathy from the staff and the manager, left me feeling unheard and upset. I ended up leaving the store in tears. I’ve never cried from a derailed customer service experience like that in my life but this keeps happened and it’s affects my work — my livelihood. I love Apple but I’m deeply, deeply disappointed in how they handle their product’s faulty hardware. I’m stuck with a computer that is going to break AGAIN. Apple, please make this right.

I picked up my new phone right after it was launched, and my experience with the staff still sticks in my mind. I gave two stars to the person who welcomed me at the door because he was so nice. Although I liked my new phone, I didn't like the person who talked about and handled my phone to me. She tried to convince me to purchase Apple Care which I don't need to. I've been using iPhone for the past 10 years and I know what to expect. She tried to talk to me for 15 minutes but couldn't get me to purchase it, so she gave me the phone without the bag until I asked for it. When I told her that I needed a clear phone case, she searched and told me it wasn't available and tried to convince me to get another option, even though I clearly stated that I only needed the clear phone case. I checked the stock online the day before going to the store and it showed that the item was available in this store. I understand that items can occasionally go out of stock, but when I got home, I immediately tried to purchase it from the website, which still indicated that the case I wanted was available at the store. Disappointed with the customer service from a big brand like this.
