Update/response to Drew. I NEVER spilled anything on my computer - that is a flat-out lie. I NEVER asked you for anything free either. Are you a compulsive liar? I bought the machine at Costco and they said if I submit documentation, they would see if it had any extended warranty coverage, a Costco perk. After I asked when I could bring in my laptop, you told me you were going down state. I then sent you the picture showing the machine working on the Mobile Pixel auxillary screen. "I don't need to see it" you said, "here's a link to buy the part, just don't open the box like some of my customers do" (so you've done this before). You spent most of the time on the phone bashing your doctor's office and preying on pity with the woe is me cancer story (and how you already have an attorney preparing to sue the Cheboygan doctor, because, of course none of it was your fault for not following up, health choices, obesity). On and on you went. How could I know these things otherwise? The reputable computer shop in Cheboygan said you failed to discharge the battery before replacing the screen, a Lenovo requirement, and YOU shorted everything out. AND THEY HAVE PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING. They also told me I am not the first customer who came to them after encountering you. And I wrote this review at the suggestion of the Cheboygan County Sheriff (who knew you). DISGUSTING. HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, NO GOOD EXPERIENCE! Drew of Rivertown Computers fried my expensive laptop and then denied doing so! As a Michigan Supreme Court Certified Court Recorder, I depend on my computer to earn a living. Prior to my appointment, I had several calls and texts with Drew at Rivertown Computers. In that process, I took a picture of the computer and sent it to Drew to show him the computer system worked on the auxiliary Mobile Pixels screen but the main screen was dead. When I arrived at Rivertown Computers, Drew suddenly said I had to come back for the computer (he did not want me to wait there). About a half/hour later, he called to tell me that my “computer battery and charger were dead as a doorknob.” I was shocked as I worked right up until I unplugged the machine for my appointment. Drew said he had to use his generic power supply to power up the machine. I asked how this could be since I had been working on the computer for the last several weeks with the main screen dead while using my Mobile Pixels auxiliary display. Drew became extremely belligerent, loud, angry, and started yelling –screaming at me telling me, “All I did was replace the screen. I did not open the case, I did not touch the internal components or the battery and I question whether this computer even ever worked.” It was beyond ugly. He is a very B-I-G guy and I felt verbally assaulted. I asked him to connect the machine to his generic power supply to show me it would boot. He got out his power supply and connected it – EVERYTHING WAS DEAD. Then his story changes and he said, “Well, your battery must have had enough power to show me it booted to the Lenovo screen before it went dead.” Then he switches his story to, “Your machine shorted out my power supply.” What? How? He kept talking in circles. Nothing he said made sense and he was contradicting himself. He would not give me my machine unless I paid him. He ASSURED me all I needed to do was to buy a new power supply. Something was really wrong and I knew it. I IMMEDIATELY took the computer directly to another computer shop in Cheboygan where they confirmed the entire machine was fried. Drew failed to follow the proper procedures when replacing the screen and as a result, he shorted out and fried my entire computer’s motherboard and possibly other components. They said they could “smell the burnt electrical smell” coming out of my machine ports. I went to the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Department and reported this incident. If Drew truly has 30 years of experience and is the professional he claims to be, then he knows exactly what he did. And he knows he fried my computer.

GREAT SERVICE! My pc was sooooo freaking slow---not anymore. Drew did more than clean my pc up he also got my Printer/Scanner re-connected to my pc. PLUS-after YEARS of not being able to connect my Canon camera to my pc (after we got a new one), he showed me how it's done "nowadays", simply remove my memory card and insert into my pc!!! LOL Oh some of us old folk do struggle in this computer world. All's well now. Oh one more thing, he followed up with a "assist" from his home to mine. Cool!!

I brought my laptop in for service and Drew took a look. He recommended a cleanup program and I was reunited with my laptop within a day. He was fast, knowledgeable and reliable. Since then, I have reached out for some advice on buying a new laptop and virus software and he's been very helpful and responsive. He has saved me money and time. Very happy with Rivertown Computer
