Took in a detachable 2 TB hard drive for repair after I accidentally dropped it. It took a while, between the fact that I brought it in over the holidays and the repair process revealing that the hard drive was already starting to go even before it was damaged, but I got back nearly all of my data. The owner was consistently helpful, and even gave me a discount for the time it took and the fact that they couldn't quite recover everything. If I or anybody I know ever has problems with a computer, I will happily go back to Back Bay Computer or recommend them.

When Dell failed to diagnose why the internet connection on my new computer was so weak, I turned to Sam, and I’m very happy I did. He almost immediately came up with the solution, that I needed an external antenna — a solution that seems obvious in retrospect, but that for various reasons was a lot less than obvious at the time. Sam’s charges for his diagnostic skill and his advice were also very reasonable. If I have another problem with my computer, I will certainly turn to him.

Its 3 years now since this business lost my $800 laptop and never done anything to help resolve the mater. I brought it in initially for him to see if he could solder a battery terminal back on the laptop and provided him the tools and parts. After checking in with the owner, he just simply shrugged his shoulders like it's not his problem that he himself doesn't know where my property is. There are other more professional businesses in Boston.

Sam is the best! My MacBook’s display broke and I needed a replacement ASAP and he got it done within an hour. He was very helpful and friendly and prices were fair. Highly recommend Back Bay Computer!!

My laptop’s keyboard suddenly stopped working after a recent update, and I tried everything from the Lenovo forums online and nothing worked; and we kept seeing “driver error” in the settings but couldn’t fix its Brought it in, and the guy here fiddled around with it and instantly fixed it! He insisted no charge but we left a tip because we were so happy with the fix and service.
