We have 10 big Haas CNC lathes. They are all on out network. The CNC programmers write the code and our CNC machines do a direct download from our Engineering Server. There was some sort of an upgrade (Microsoft Server 2022) one of our CNC machines lost connection. I have over 40 years hands on experience. I was developing a bald spot from pulling my hair out trying to trace the problem. I finally called Louisville Geek, explained the problem and made it clear I would only pay for a max of 2 hours trouble shooting time. The tech double checked the steps i I had taken, and said He couldn't see any reason it was NOT working. I showed the set on old Haas VF9. He said that all looks correct also. He said the only thing we might try and it was stretch was to use the old method for entering the username. username\name the CNC keyboard do not have the \ so I used the / . Instantly is was connected and everything is right with world. This took less than an hour to solve a problem i had worked with for 10 days. It was another instance of "can't see the forest for those stupid trees blocking the view." Also a second pair of eyes can often spot a blind spot that is overlooked.
