I am originally from Wisconsin where I had a great mechanic for years. I wasn’t sure who to trust here in Kentucky and several of my coworkers referred me to Bruce. Everything they told me about his work, ethics and prices was absolutely true! He genuinely wants my car to get back on the road working right for me. He explains everything he’s found wrong, gives you the prices up front and gets to work quickly to accommodate his customers needs. Don’t hesitate at all to take all your vehicles to him! It’s nice to have a mechanic I can trust again!

Mr. Mefford is great. I called the night before and was able to drop my car off the next morning before work. My car was fixed before lunch so I was able to pick it up during my lunch break. The repair cost was very reasonable. I recommend this repair shop and would take my car here again.

We live out of town. Our daughters car broke down it was a belt... this was the closest shop to where she was. I helped her find it, and he stayed open to look at it. We then set her up with a room for the night. The mechanic (maybe he was also the owner?) did a good job fixed the car the next day so they could head home the next day.

Fair and honest mechanic. Took my car to a repair shop that I won't mention, to have it aligned. Was told I needed to replace my rack and pinion which would cost 500. So I was told about Mefford by a friend. Stopped by to ask how much he would charge for the rack and pinion repair. He said let me look at it. Called me after about hour or two later to tell me he couldn't find anything wrong with it however he found a busted power steering line which cost me 40bucks...fair and honest.

My mother was down to visit for a couple of weeks, and when it was time to take the 5h drive back north, her suv started sputtering, like it was missing. Since I'm relatively new to LEX, I asked around and some (like several) people at work told me about Bruce Medford. I could only forward the directions to my mom (and my wife with her, for support), and a AAA tow later and Bruce was able to check it out, same day luckily. After a jokingly tsk tsk about my mom's "current" mechanic, he sent her on her way and heavily suggesting she bring it back next visit so he could give the suv a good inspection (presumably to see what else the other mechanic may have missed). Fast forward to a coworker asking for a mechanic because the dealership quoted an abs repair for $2150. I wholeheartedly recommended Bruce Mefford, and he was able to diagnose and repair the car for $400. I'm not sure if he would be able to work on my Chevrolet Ev, but I'll be damned if I won't take my wife's jeep to him and even give him a crack at any fix for my car as well. I had pretty much given up on the idea of an "honest mechanic", but I am glad to know that one still exists.
