Dr. Dave people were fantastic. Our computer problem was somewhat sticky but was handled and much less costly than I suspected. Your best resource for problems that Dr. Dave handles.

First, I should mention that Dr Dave is no longer at the address on Pennsylvania, in Lawrence. When I went there I was told he'd moved out "some time ago". Second, I was able to talk to Dr Dave on the phone today, and was told that he doesn't "work on custom computers". The PC in question had been running 24x7 since I built it in 2016, but the Linux Fedora 25 OS was deteriorating and I was preparing to upgrade to Fedora 40. Then we had the wind storm and the power outage. My PC's all run from an UPS, so I was able to shut them down gracefully. But, afterwards the problem PC would boot up, but the screen remained black after the OS started. Anyway, Dr Dave saved me some $$, because after some thought I tried adding a kernel (OS) parameter during the boot sequence and circumvented the problem. My PC is again usable! The single star was required before the [Post] button activated.

Matt got me back up-and-running. He was able to retrieve emails that had been accidently deleted. I have used Doctor Dave's service since moving to Lawrence 11-years-ago, and have always been impressed with how efficient, fast and can always fix my computer problems.
