My daughter bought a Lenovo Yoga computer at the Ames Best Buy store a year ago and had problems all year. We took it in several times and while we had not bought the Geek Squad plan, they still helped us out and sent the computers in for repair. My daughter again was having problems and took it in after the semester was over. The Geek Squad manager came over and told us technically we were past our warranty period however he was going to make an exception and grant us a full in store credit for the computer! Exceptional customer service and can not give them higher praise!!! The Ames, Iowa store is well staffed with knowledgeable staff. Much better than some other Best Buy stores have been to!

My mac wasn't working, so I took it in. This guy was no help, although he was new. He was an ass. I simply just said, "I hope everything isn't gone." He said right away, "oh everything's gone." Kind of pissed me off how he said it. Long story short, everything is still on my computer, it was something else. He was horrible - not knowledgeable or friendly. Geek squad is never usually helpful for me anyways (at least Ames Best Buy). They just want your money.

Do not take your computer here. They are extremely careless. They may diagnose fix the issue, but they will create more during the reassembly. When I took my computer here they lost the cable from my motherboard to my cdrom and they lost the thumb screw that connects my GPU to my case. The cables for the internal LEDs were dangling and not hooked up. They gave me a cable and a screw to replace it, but I had to waste extra time going back to the store. Also, their cable management and routing during the rebuild was atrocious. Maybe they thought I wouldn't care or notice.

You will get some one in a call center reading a script.when you get to the store they will try to sell you a service plan and no one there can address your problem. They want to send it somewhere. Don't waste your time, my experiance was they cannot help you.

Do not take your computer here. Provided no help. Said “We can’t do anything here, we need to send it in”. I just received notice that it took over a week for them to ship. They could not have provided any worse service if they tried. They lack the organizational skill to pull it off on purpose.
