For years, we've been customers of Best Buy & Geek Squad, but we've finally hit a wall with spending our money with them. On October 15th, we purchased a new LG dishwasher at best buy, and went with this model specifically because it was available the next week for delivery and had a little extra to offer. Did They Show Up? No, they didn't, after Waiting All Day. Last time, we purchased a washing machine, and it was delayed, too. It's a very common trend with best buy.

I am not one to usually write reviews, but I felt like this one was needed for other peoples sake. Today I scheduled an appointment with geek squad to confirm that it was my macbook charger that was no longer working. I walked up to the counter where a younger gentleman helped me. He immediately asked me what the issue was and plugged my macbook into a universal charger. I asked him if that was okay, since I was told by many tec guys, that you should plug apple products into apple products. He said yes. After a few minutes of random conversation he tells me, that it will be $900-$1200 to fix my laptop and that I should just buy myself a new one. Just from only plugging it into a universal charger, no diagnostic testing, nothing. After leaving the counter, I went over to Techy across the street. I walked in and two gentleman grabbed my computer, plugged it into an apple charger, and it turned on instantly. They even updated the software to make sure everything else was alright. I 100% recommend getting other opinions than just geek squad, because I just saved myself about $900.

Was quoted over the phone for a diagnostic run for $0. Confirmed the location with who scheduled my appointment. I arrived and they told me I was at the wrong location and stated that the diagnostic charge would be $100. They spoke with the manager and said they could lower it to $80. I laughed and said I'd be going to A+ Computers. He said that over the phone quotes are inaccurate.. so why give them. Don't waste your time.

Brought my laptop in for a simple fix, so I thought. The hinge was broken, but it was still functioning and running fine. Was told in store that it would be 30 days at the most to fix, after sending it to the service center. During this time, they never updated the status of the repair on the website. They finally called me after three weeks and told me that they could fix it and that the part was in stock. Another three weeks go by and the website said - good news your computer has been shipped back. I get a call from the Apple Glen store to say that they never fixed the computer - after 6 weeks. So they lied when they said they had the part because they never got the part. My computer was never fixed, in fact it was in worse condition when it was returned to me. The screen was literally hanging on by a cord and running so slow it is unusable. In the store they never apologized, and told me to call 1800-geek-squad. Terrible customer service. Terrible service. I am now out a computer that was only 2 years old. **UPDATE** This was originally a 1-star review because of the above service. I still believe this was handled very poorly. However, my husband and I returned to the store and spoke with a manager. The manager, Jason, redeemed the situation and gave us credit for a new computer. Jason made things right, but I'm annoyed that it took my husband pointing out the wrongdoing to be compensated for my broken computer.

Had the squad do data transfer from 2 computers to 2 new computers. Seemless. Setting appointment was easy, staff knowledgeable and friendly. Very happy.
