Recently took my custom gaming PC into the shop to run diagnostics and replace the CPU upon confirming that was the issue. After picking up my PC and booting it up back home, I notice that there is a new icon in my taskbar that is their company logo (if you hover your mouse over it, it shows SCG Technologies along with their contact information). Not once was I informed by the employees themselves that they would be installing this onto my PC. If it was hidden in the lengthy agreement they have you sign when you bring in your PC, then that is shady and feels unethical. They tell you its the normal contract about ensuring your computer is safe and gives them the right to log into your computer. A little bit of research tells me that it's SyncroMSP. Everything I look up regarding SycnroMSP makes it seem more like it's used for business IT and not just some random home PC. SyncroMSP is called a remote monitoring and management (RMM) tool. It can do a whole lot more than just monitor hardware, it allows the person controlling it complete access to your computer, they can run commands on it in the background, access files on it, remotely control it and see what's on the screen. Luckily I was able to remove it myself, but it still felt like a invasion to my privacy.

I’ve been here before just a laptop clean up. So I took my Mac in for a bigger job and they were knowledgeable and amazing. Follow up on new work done. These guys individually are amazing, sometimes you have just one person who has an idea but not here. My latest dilemma was fixed - they were calm despite my inability to express what I needed or did to my files. They not only located but fixed and assisted me in understanding how to proceed more efficiently. Thanks doesn’t being to cover what they have done all our systems.

Just purchased a new laptop from SCG after mine crashed. Did a great job transferring all my data. Not being Windows 11 literate had to call them a couple times. Sam who did all the transfer for me was more than willing to help me on what I didn’t understand. He did a great job, Thanks to all of you.

I lost my desktop and server due to something? They were able to come to my home office and in two hours I was up and running again and working better. Zack was great and a life saver. I'm a CPA and this was not a good time for me to be down. Thank you so much for your quick response and work.
