I can't speak highly enough about the Geek Squad at this Best Buy. It's easy to get an appointment, the technicians are knowledgeable, patient, and helpful, and the last time I went in my issue turned out to be a simple fix and they didn't even charge me. Can't recommend them enough.

They were incredibly helpful. I did not have time to go to Best Buy to get my computer unlocked and had somehow inadvertently locked it down. They were able to patch me through to experts who could “remote on” with me and saved me from having to drive across Chicago to get it accessed.

Walked in to speak to a GS rep after being directed by the phone-based Best Buy Mobile services team to take my matter directly to the store. I am a paying TotalTech member, I had a Pixel device replaced under a protection plan three times and each time each device had a defect necessitating a replacement. After the third replacement, the phone-based Mobile Services team told me I was eligible for a store credit towards a new device of my choice and directed me to go to a store to continue the process there. I did so and I had the luck of speaking to Ricky/Edwin, a Senior Associate and by his claim the Geek Squad supervisor on duty. I described the issue to him and he said that he had no idea about this process and that my only choice through him was to order another (4th) replacement device. I explained to him what the phone people had told me and offered to call them together to untangle this knot. Very arrogantly and brusquely, Ricky/Edwin refused. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he was the supervisor and I had no other avenues or recourse. At no time did he even attempt to work his brain, think of options, look for alternatives, consider calling THE BEST BUY PHONE SUPPORT (is it the same company or not?!) to try to converge the various stories I was being told. He may have been telling the truth about his options, but his attitude, arrogance and lack of any interest to help out A PAYING MEMBER in any way earns him zero stars (wish that was an option) and my square resolve not to deal with this store or Geek Squad team. Sadly, he was training someone while dealing with me and I hate to think what that new person will learn from a "mentor" like this.

I walked into the line to be seen by a Geek Squad Technician, The technician helping someone ahead of me interrupted his customer to inform me I needed to make an appointment and that I would likey not get an appointment till next week. This was at around 11 am, i could see the next appointment on the screen was for 1pm, First of all why wouldn't there be an option for walk-ins, especially in the morning? Second, the technician didnt even let me get to the front of the line to explain what services i needed. Overall, geek squad simply didn't want to help me. Nonetheless, I took my computer to UBreakIFix, was in there for about 15 min, told me everything that was wrong with my laptop, offered to fix what they could.
