HORRIBLE Service. First there is no one to greet you. There was 2 guys at the end of the counter I believe his name is Joshua and the other guy with long brown hair. When you walk up they just stare at you and continue talking. After a couple of minutes they finally said how can I help you. I was told since I do not have an appointment to just wait till one of the workers is done, which is fine but after an hour of waiting I went to the counter to figure out how much longer to wait and I receive no answer just to wait when they are done. As he is telling me this he is eating a bag of chips right in front of me. After a waiting a little longer I just got up and left while they just stared and did not acknowledge anything. Just a big waste of time.

Geek Squad messed up my laptop screen. They did not fix it correctly. The lining around the screen was put in too far out, which kept the screen from closing all the way. I brought this up to the guy helping me who then brought it to a manager in Best Buy. That manager an associate claimed that my screen was fixed just fine and didn't want to help me any further. Now the black lining around the screen leaves marks on the keyboard when it's closed because the border was too far out, as I claimed but I was not believed.

Basically, most of the protection plans with Best Buy have to go through their Geek Squad. Since the start of this pandemic in March, I’ve been unable to get an appointment to bring my Beats Headphones in for repair. I’ve tried going online (said they were completely booked...back in March), phoning with Customer Service (they didn’t see any openings for the foreseeable future), goin into a store in-person (said I had to schedule online or with customer service) and again today (Oct 13th) telephonically (apparently a system glitch prevented them from confirming my appointment this time). They’ve left hundreds...if not thousands of customers with no recourse to get the service they need and paid for.

I brought my phone into the Geeksquad located at this Best Buy as it was the closest Apple Genius Bar affiliate in my location. I arrived at 2:37 for my 2:40 appointment. I wasnt acknowledged until 3:00pm. I told Brittany that my phone was saying that it was disabled and to connect to iTunes due to my screen being damaged. She rolled her eyes at me every time I spoke and I progressively felt more and more disrespected and just wanted to get out of there. I saw a mother and daughter come in to pick up their laptop which had been totally wiped and the daughter started to cry. The mother said "you guys said we wouldn't have to worry about losing our data" and the tech told them "We had to wipe it". I was made uneasy by that interaction so I made a point to tell Brittany that I didn't want my phone wiped. The whole staff was rude except for Carlos and Susan who seemed to be the only people with any kind of a whim of a care. The entire staff otherwise was extremely rude and treated every customer like they were 1. dumb, and 2. not important. They promised me my phone wouldn't be wiped and that I would have my phone in one hour. My phone wasn't available until 2 hours later and when I arrived they said that I had lost all my data and that it was my fault. I told them they should have told me that earlier before I paid $300 for a cracked screen to be fixed and the night supervisor treated my grandmother and I like we were beneath her. She spoke to us as if we were children being reprimanded by the Geeksquad tyrant of the night shift. I wish Carlos was there because maybe then I would actually have a working phone. Now I have my phone back, still disabled, with no further information, -$300, and a shiny new screen that does absolutely nothing for the fact that its not usable. The night shift supervisor was so rude and so loud that ultimately I am writing this review because I made a point to concisely express in a professional and diplomatic matter why I felt I had been tricked and she outright called me insane. This kind of gaslighting is so blatant that even the other customers in line were shaking their heads and saying sorry to me because they felt so bad for me. Now I have a flight out of Miami at 5am and I still don't know how Im going to fix this phone as paying $300 to the Geeksquad only made me into a fool short $300.

I would like to say thank you to one of the employee's at Geek Squad. Thank you very much Richard for helping me with fixing my protection security program and installing a new program (Webroot). He was very helpful and professional even though there were many people that needed customer service and the staff was short by 1. Richard's performance was very professional throughout the early rush-hour chaos in the afternoons. His tone of voice was very composed and welcoming. This is a trait that I believe every employee should follow to achieve customer service needs. thank you. :)
