Business Overview
Geek Squad is a computer repair shop that offers services for hardware repairs and installations, although customers report some issues, such as long wait times, and communication issues. The customer experience does not appear to be very good. Some problems include non-responsive staff, and issues with appointments, like the tech not being able to resolve the issue or having a non-expert on the job.

Paid for two home visits, both times the person who showed was not the right person for the job. Getting ready to charge us a 3RD time to send another guy. Extremely unprofessional and simply don't care. I feel like I should have only been charged once since the manager scheduled two different guys and both for not what the problem was to diagnose my TV. A third visit is on scheduled, and I just don't feel like we should have to pay for it. Not impressed at all.

Installation of my equipment was supposed to take place on a Wednesday. When they didn't show up I called the help desk who said there was some error. All they did was reschedule me 8 days later. She said if I can find somebody to do it before that I will call you. She never did. Seem to me. Once they got my money they come to install it when they damn well please

I have Geek Squad totaltech, which is a yearly subscription that allows me to have tech support on all my devices no matter where ive purchased it. I had an appointment to go see a technician for my pc. The appointment was for my pc to get a diagnostic to figure out the issue is, and maybe keep the pc and work on it because its not posting (pc powers up including monitor but its still blank). I got a brand new processor over the weekend (two days prior to posting this), because the last time i went to them they said it was the problem. When I made it to my appointment, they plugged in my pc to their monitor and powered it on and said, "its your processor." I asked can they do a full diagnostic or switch out the motherboard to see if that was the problem. They told me, what they were doing at that moment was "their diagnostic," and to take my pc to another local pc repair store. What is the point of having Geek Squad Totaltech membership if they won't honor it.

Look, these are nice people, it’s a shame they work for this company. I know it’s not that big of a deal to say I will never use this place again, they will find another customer, no problem. I will say missing calls or sitting on hold and then going in person and still not being able to get a report of what’s being fixed on my laptop is insane. I just wanted my computer screen fixed and wanted to know what else the estimate was including. They couldn’t tell me, in person and couldn’t reach them on the phone. I was told I got the screen fixed and a new keyboard fixed when it was done. Didn’t want or need the keyboard and if it had brought down the price I would have loved the option to say no to specific things like. If you do use geek squad, also plan a fair amount extra in taxes because Geek squad doesn’t want to tell you before hand the full total with taxes. The cost was nearly seventy dollars more than my original estimate. I’m not saying its the worst place in the world just saying, you should use Hurricane Computers in Bradenton over any geek squad anytime. Better customer service and better prices!

I took my 1 year old laptop to Geek Squad at Best Buy. The issue was two fold my email was taking FOREVER to sync and was causing me to restart the entire system. Upon restart it was then taking 20 minutes to get the laptop to connect to my internet. So on Friday afternoon I took it in to have them diagnose the laptop. I have a service contract I pay yearly for this service. Unfortunately I got Phil at the counter. Who is probably the most inept, non informed person in the store ( maybe the entire state). Phil began by telling me I needed to get with my email provider, then whoever hosts my companies website. Finally he suggested I get with my IT department (who sent me in to Geek Squad in the first place). Apparently Phil wanted me to see anyone but him. Which in my opinion goes against the entire program and promise I paid for when I signed up for their service. This is my second experience with Phil and had basically the same result, take this problem elsewhere. In leaving the counter I went to the computer section and bought another laptop. This purchase represents my third laptop purchase from this very store in under a year. Best Buy be on notice! Because of the promises and non fulfillment I will not buy one more item from your store. I want you to know that customers like me who spend a bunch of money on devices and electronics do not appreciate the Phil's in our lives who we pay you to hire. DO NOT BUY FROM BEST BUY OR GEEK SQUAD!
