Best place around to bring an iPhone or apple computer to! I love these guys! They fixed my laptop in two days from the time that I dropped it off. And even helped me answer a dumb question I had with my phone. The technicians really know what they are talking about and made my computer good as new. And the woman up front was exceptionally friendly and cheerful and made me feel better about having a broken computer. Customer service was excellent. I'm really happy I decided to ignore the few negative reviews i had read before bringing in my computer. Seems to me those people were just not happy with the their broken computer and not the store itself. Don't waste your time driving an hour to the actual apple stores, you'll regret it. Bring it here without a doubt.

Bottom line, The Computer Lab met the need that originally brought me in the door (increasing the performance speed of my iMac). That being said, I have to provide some specific details for my 3-star review. From a customer service perspective, when I'm paying to have a device diagnosed or repaired, I expect periodic updates and to be informed if the timeline for repairs is going to be delayed. From the time that I dropped it off, I was given a timeline of one day with an additional day for weather that was expected and could impact power. When that weather didn't affect power, I expected to have my computer back a day later. Three working days later I got my computer back and I had to call to get periodic updates throughout the process. I didn't get the impression that they were actively working on my computer without me prodding them. From an attention to detail perspective, The Computer Lab could use some work. I had to provide them with my passwords three different times over two days and this delay could've been avoided if the representative at the counter would've just copied the password correctly the first time and prompted me for all necessary passwords. As an IT professional, I lost a lot of confidence in the maintenance technician when I was explaining what my password was and he didn't understand what a keyboard walk was. He also didn't convey to me that he had any specific technical knowledge outside of running a diagnostic program, which I could do myself if I wanted to spend money on the software. The Computer Lab was able to increase my computer's performance speed and allowed me to put the money that I paid for a diagnostic towards the cost of replacing the RAM. The prices were fair comparing them to other available repair shops. I would've replaced the RAM myself if I felt like buying the additional materials needed, but I'll be honest, I had the money to pay someone else to do it and I don't have the time. Will I return to The Computer Lab in the future? The best I can say is maybe.

Several months ago my older iMac hard drive died, I thought it would be quite some time before i would get my computer back, but they had it repaired in just 2 days. They were patient and informative and helpful. Last week I was stuck after downloading Picasa, but Doreen was able to walk me through moving a few things around, in very little time, and I not only was back to my photos but learned more info about my Mac listening to her suggestions, she was also patient and helpful. Even though New London is a little bit of a haul for me to get to, I would def go there again, they were great!!

I had a serious issue with my MacBooK Pro recently and I was afraid I was going to be without my computer for a week. I was working on an event and all my information was on it...and not backed up. The issue was resolved and I had my computer back in 24 hours! Amazing. Then a week later my husband's computer had a problem. He has his business information on the computer. He had his computer diagnosed, up and running and back within 48 hours. Also Doreen and staff took the time and effort to show us how to use our "Time Machine" app and external drive. To say the least we were impressed and satisfied with our experience there.

The folks know computers. They were timely with a diagnosis, and helped me find a suitable replacement computer. Their selection of useful accessories is pretty limited, and the acridness of some of the front office folks is a bit off-putting, but overall a good experience.
