I reached out to them for a quote, attaching the pictures below for reference. They promptly responded via email, estimating the repair cost to be between $300 and $500. Trusting their word, I agreed and shipped my device to them. However, once they received it, I received another email notifying me that my device was deemed "a no-fix." In essence, I was swindled out of $84(not including shipping it to them) in return for shipping costs without any resolution. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money with these scammers. In hindsight, my mistake was giving them recognition simply because they have a popular YouTube channel. Learn from my mistakes and steer clear of their services.

This is a disappointing review to write, as I like their YouTube channel. I requested that NorthRidge swap a cracked MacBook screen with a working one that I provided the parts for. There are certain steps that NEED to be taken with the newer MacBooks, which they are aware of and I clearly outlined in the request, and they accepted the repair. After a period of time with minimal communication, I received the laptop back to find out they did not fully complete the repair as requested, which caused artifacts to be permanently displayed on the screen. There's a certain chip that needs to be swapped as well, which fixes this issue. I had specifically mentioned this in the repair request. After a period of back and forth with their less-than-responsive tech support team, they had asked for the laptop back to finish since they have a "guarantee". I sent it back on my own dollar, and then after another period of minimal communication, I received the laptop back with nothing changed. They disposed of the donor laptop I provided them, which made this repair now impossible. Since the repair was not completed as they had accepted, I simply asked for my $400 back and was ignored. So much for that repair "guarantee". I wasted nearly 7 months trying to resolve this issue, or at the very least get my money back since they didn't complete the repair as requested, and in return I have a faulty unsellable laptop. I wouldn't recommend NorthRidge to anyone due to my experience.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with this repair shop. My laptop has been with them for over seven months, and not only did they fail to fix it, but they are now demanding $85 for their so-called "repair attempt." On top of that, they are giving me two unacceptable options: either pay $141 to cover the fees and return shipping, or let them keep my laptop. This feels like a complete scam, especially considering the laptop is a gaming laptop, and just the keyboard and screen are worth over $300. Let me explain why this experience was so bad: Unreasonable Delays: They claimed the repair required parts from China, which might take weeks. Even after waiting over seven months, there was no meaningful progress or resolution. I had to repeatedly follow up for updates, and each time they had nothing constructive to say. Misleading Terms and Charges: After all this time, they labeled my case as a "no-fix" and are now demanding $85 for an unsuccessful repair attempt, plus $56 for return shipping, totaling $141. If I don’t pay, they want to keep my laptop. This is completely unfair and predatory. My laptop was shipped to them all the way from Germany to the USA, so they likely knew I couldn’t visit their shop in person or easily pursue legal action. Unprofessional Responses: Their communication was inconsistent and dismissive. Instead of showing empathy for the long delays or offering proper explanations, they focused on justifying their terms. This lack of professionalism and sensitivity made an already frustrating situation even worse. Lack of Transparency: They claim to have made a repair attempt, but there’s no evidence of this. There are no videos or records of the process, even though they say they usually record repairs. This makes their claim of having tried highly questionable. Exploitation of Customers: After months of delays, they’ve essentially put me in an impossible situation—either pay a ridiculous amount of money to get my laptop back or lose it entirely. Given the value of the laptop’s components (screen and keyboard alone worth over $300), this feels like deliberate exploitation. This shop has proven to be completely unreliable, unprofessional, and exploitative. Sending my laptop to them was a huge mistake, and I strongly advise others to stay far away from their services. They have wasted my time, money, and caused unnecessary stress. Do not trust this repair shop—they lack integrity and professionalism and will likely leave you frustrated and out of pocket.

Dishonest service/ high prices/ lots of fake reviews The problem with my machine is that the welding and testing technically should take about four hours, a very simple and basic operation. The technician promised three times on the day of payment that it would be completed in four days, but there was no work for six days. The technician brought my equipment from outside and started working in a panic. The whole process was a mess, just like taking me away from here. There are some scratches on the equipment, but fortunately they are not harmful. The welding is very ugly. Upon inspection, the mounting screws are seriously stressed and all the screw holes are worn, which affects the subsequent disassembly and cleaning work. I have seen their team do nothing about the equipment that needs repair many times, and do not respond to any messages. I don't know how they can achieve the attitude and technical level shown in the promotional video? Their team can only handle simple issues and cannot repair broken equipment. At least their studio equipment can only handle simple issues, and the fees are not transparent. You have to take delivery of the goods to know the price. Repairs here are not recommended unless there is no other choice 2024/02/13
