Alabama Computers

I’m blown away at the service Alabama computers provided me. I dropped my computer off early afternoon, explained my issues and told me it would be ready the next day. 5pm the same day, I was told the computer was done and I’m so pleased. Can’t thank you enough.

This place had good reviews so I took my laptop to be checked out. They were supposed to be open but it was dark and the door was locked. I called, no one answered. It sent me to voicemail, but the mailbox is full. This is not a good way to run a business!

Took my gaming desktop here due to my displays black screening and fans running at 100%. I advised that the computer kept doing it every time that I would run games. He took it in and didn’t charge any fees for the diagnosis, which was nice. He called me the next day and advised that one of the cables to my GPU had been unplugged, and he ran it all night with videos to have it tested. I thought it was odd that he didn’t run any video games to test it, but I was excited to take my computer back home and boot up some video games. I got back home and plugged everything to run Diablo 4, and the computer displays went black again and fans went 100%. I tried calling him back, and he said he didn’t know what else to do except run a CCCLEANER software to test run without specific programs. Did it and GPU crashed again. As a last resort, I went to Best Buy and bought a new GPU and installed it. It worked! Unfortunately, I had to waste $60 here before I decided to take some action in replacing the part. He may be good for basic things like OS installations, but I wouldn’t recommend him for any enthusiast builds whatsoever.

2-Year Update: Mikel has kept my older laptop running well for the last 2 years, but it was time for an updated laptop. Instead of going to Best Buy to purchase the laptop they want to sell me along with an expensive and worthless subscription to the Geek Squad as I did before I knew about Mikel & Alabama Computers, I called Mikel and told him it was time. He asked about what features are important to me and my budget. The next week he had me up and running on a brand-new, unbelievably faster laptop, with everything set up exactly as it was on my older laptop including all of my saved bookmarks for work and personal use. I'm not a tech-savvy person, so it's uber important to me to have someone who knows their stuff and with whom I can trust. That person is Mikel @ Alabama Computers. While he will send me to Best Buy to get accessories for my computers, I'll never use Best Buy nor the Geek Squad again. Working with Alabama Computers is like having a white-glove personal computer concierge professional in lieu of an impersonal corporation with bad service. Give him a try...you will not reqret it! USE THESE GUYS!!! HONEST GUYS WITH GREAT SERVICE AT REASONABLE PRICES!!! FAST AND RELIABLE!!! I'm not computer savvy enough to do my own computer repairs, so I've always purchased the "Geek Squad" protection package with my laptops and computers. Problem with Geek Squad, you wait in line forever, they promise you a repair time they never keep, there often seems to be an issue their protection plan doesn't cover, and weeks later (not days) you end up with a huge bill, or worse, having to buy a new computer because it's "less expensive with the repair". I'm done with that. Michael at Alabama Computers diagnosed my issues while I was there, and had my laptop repaired and ready to go in a couple of hours, and at a reasonable price. Also, my internal battery wouldn't hold a charge, so he also ordered a new battery for me, and put everything back together so I could use my laptop with the wall charger for a week until the new battery came in...how convenient is that?! They're the polar opposite of Best Buy and Geek Squad. Wish I could give them 6 STARS.
